Matt and I took Drew to the mall to get his picture taken with Santa, but he refused to sit on his lap. Luckily, Santa came to see him at daycare and he was willing to pose.
Here's a video from when MeMa and Papa came to visit in October. Mom is trying to get Drew to say "tractor" instead of "wactor" His pronunciation has gotten better since then.
Mom and I took Drew to the portrait studio. It is extremely difficult to get a 2 yr old boy to sit still and pose for pictures. Thought I'd put up a few of the action shots since we got a CD with all the pics on it. Believe it or not, there were some good ones. Here are some of the others.
He looks like he's doing a push up.
Playing with the props.
Getting ready to jump off the block. From the look on his face, I just said "No." He jumped anyway. We didn't get any good pics with the block.
One of several shots of him jumping. Cute, but not one to frame.
Drew and I went to SC at the end of May to celebrate my parents' 40th wedding anniversary. Dad arranged it as a surprise for Mom. We only stayed for the weekend, but Mom took more than 60 pictures of Drew in that time. Here are some highlights.
Drew in the pool with Delilah.
Dad borrowed a tractor from the neighbor for Drew.
We forgot to pack our camera, so we don't have photos of Drew riding the carousel for the first time, or of him running in the fountain in Millennium Park. Here's a family photo at the wedding, and a pic of Drew at breakfast, thanks to Bryan!
Drew's favorite thing right now is tractors. On our drive to Rolla, we pass several farms and a John Deere dealership, so our conversation goes like this:
Drew: Tractor.
Me: Yes, honey, that's a tractor.
Drew: Tractor!
Me: Yes, I see the tractor.
Drew: Tractor! Tractor!
Me: I know, it's a tractor.
Repeat.
So imagine his excitement when Matt and I took him to the antique tractor show one Saturday.
Drew loves to go outside, and he loves this little car that I got used for 5 bucks. This is from March, when it was still cold out. No children were harmed in the making of this video.
We went to Purina Farms the day before Easter with Daddy, Aunt Becky, Mema (now Drew's started calling her Nana) and Papa. Drew did not want to sit on the Easter Bunny's lap. He loved the tractor ride, but was scared of the chicken and cow that mooed really loudly.
Happy New Year! We had a great Christmas in SC. We enjoyed the nice, warm weather (would have been perfect without the sand gnats).
Drew was, of course, the center of attention. Aunts, uncles, cousins, and his great-grandmother came to visit. I have lots of videos of Drew to edit and post. Here's a short one of him dancing with his new toy keyboard.
